Our Principle of Project Management+ course is a unique offering combining our introductory Project Management course with a business simulation, allowing delegates the opportunity throughout to practice and implement the theory which they have learnt. The course begins with a simulated project: the first day sees the delegates taking part in "The Challenge of Egypt" which serves to provide the context of a project that will contextualise the teaching throughout the rest of the course.
The Challenge of Egypt The Challenge of Egypt simulation is set in ancient Egypt where the class is tasked with building the Pyramid of Cheops for a rather impatient Pharaoh. How does this link into Project Management? Believe it or not you can draw lots of parallels between today’s project environment and ancient Egypt, they built massive structures, often in extreme conditions, with unexpected hazards and challenges and without today’s modern technology – yet they got the job done. This didn’t just happen by itself!! As part of a team you will need to deal with these constraints and create a project organisation to help realise the project; throughout you will also face pressures experienced in real projects such as time, scope, financial and quality constraints. |
Why combine training with a simulation? Simple, conventional training is not always enough on its own. It is often hard to transfer the knowledge gained whilst studying into the reality of everyday project life. The best way to learn this is by doing! With our course you will do just that, experience firsthand the benefits of Project Management practices.
Who Should Attend The course will benefit those with project support or project assurance roles, team managers and team members. It is also suitable for anyone wishing to gain more of an insight into project management and potentially progressing to study a Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2®.
Pre-requisites Delegates should have a basic awareness of project work from their own business environment.
Additional Costs There are no addition costs associated with this course |
