PRINCE2 2009 is the latest best practice framework from the OGC. It keeps its core values but incorporates improvements based on feedback and acknowledges challenges which are facing today’s projects. The key improvements to PRINCE2 2009 are, it:
- Integrates with MSP® , M_O_R® & P3O® - Links to other methods and bodies of knowledge - Gives guidance on tailoring for smaller projects - Is less prescriptive and is more flexible - Highlights the importance of the “soft aspects” of PM - The manuals is smaller - Offers more guidance and less instruction - Is less theoretical and more practical |
Who Should Attend The course will benefit Project Managers, Team Managers/Leaders, Project and Quality Assurance or Project Support staff who wish to gain the Practitioner qualification in PRINCE2. It is also suitable for those wishing to gain a formal qualification after a couple of years of project management experience.
Pre-requisites Delegates should be familiar with projects and ideally Project Management tools and techniques, such as those covered in our Principles of Project Management or ISEB Foundation Certificate in IS Project Management course.
As of December 2000 the PRINCE2 Examinations at Practitioner level gave candidates a PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner status. You will need to take the Re-Registration Examination between 3 and 5 years after the date shown on your original certificate in order to maintain your status as a Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner. If you do not take the Re-registration exam within this timeframe then you will lose your 'registered' status. Please note that you are then not required to sit the Practitioner examination again - you can still sit the Re-registration exam.
