Course Outline v1.0

THE COURSE
The course is intended to provide delegates with skills and exposure to implement Windows 2008/Hyper-V Virtual Machines with System Center Virtual Machine Manager. It covers product fundamentals, deployment and detailed configuration of the product to enable the delegate to create and manage Virtual Machines with Hyper-V and to be able understand the extra functionality such as the library function, migration of physical servers to VMs and perform other complex tasks with SCVMM. This is a FAST-TRACK course, combining elements of Hyper-V and SCVMM training into a shortened time frame for delivery which necessitates a slightly more rapid delivery.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Delegates that are already or will be implementing  System Center Virtual Machine Manager  with Hyper-V within their organisation in order to consolidate the server infrastructure and realise other benefits of virtualisation.

 PRE-REQUISITES
Delegates should have a good working knowledge of Windows Servers (preferably 2003 or 2008) and understanding of concepts around networking and storage. This can be gained by attending the Quanta course ‘Windows Server 2008 Administration’ or ‘Windows Server 2003 Administration’. Alternatively attendance of the ‘Windows Server 2008 New Features for Windows 2003 Administrators’ for those coming from the older operating system may be beneficial but not obligatory. No previous knowledge of virtualisation is required.
